An unfinished basement space was created to include one bedroom, full bath as well as a bunk room with three twin beds lined up on simple platforms. We then added bolsters to run along the back wall making it into a very large sectional couch. A mini bar area was installed under the stairs. it has it's own entrance from outside. We excavated, to make a poured concrete frame for stairs down.

For the floor of the entry, we installed radiant heat and drainage so the snow accumulation could melt. The staircase was fabricated locally using open galvanized steel grates to allow the snow to fall thorough onto the heated floor below. There is a roof at the bottom of the stairs with a skylight in it to get as much light as possible. we also added an area across from the door to tore a cord of firewood.
